Beatrice-Barbosa-Legal-Miami-Beach-International-Tax-Law-teamBeatrice joined Barbosa Legal at the end of 2015 and we have enjoyed the wonderful energy and experience she brings to the firm.  Last week we sat down to ask her questions to become more familiar with her.  This is what we learned.

Beatrice was born in Italy and lived there until she was eighteen years old.  At that time she decided that learning English would be beneficial towards her goal of working in the international legal field.  She decided to move to Boston for the excellent academics and the richness of culture present there.  Although Beatrice has lived in the United States for over six years, she returns to Italy twice a year to visit her family that mostly still reside there.

At Boston University she studied International Relations and Economics with a focus on Europe mostly because of her familiarity with Europe.  She also completed a minor concentration in political science.  Beatrice has the opportunity to spend a semester abroad in Madrid where she worked on Spanish communication skills as well as work with a fiscal department consulting firm.  One of her political science professors curriculum introduced Beatrice to the study of the United States Legal System, reaffirming her desire to further pursue legal studies.

After completing her undergraduate studies, she relocated to Miami to work for a bankruptcy law firm with the goal of eventually studying law at the University of Miami.  Beatrice was accepted immediately and therefore began studying law shortly after moving.  After her first year, she elected to take a Federal Income Tax eventually inspiring her idea to complete an LLM in Taxation.  Towards the end of her legal studies, Beatrice worked for a law firm focused on corporate matters and tax.  The firm worked with various Italian clients and Beatrice was able to assist with tax planning for those interested in moving to the United States.

Beatrice shared that she has thoroughly enjoyed working with the team at Barbosa Legal.  Working directly with clients on issues relating to tax planning and compliance, the office location on Lincoln Road, the international environment, and the guidance of Julio as examples as to why she fully enjoys working at the firm.  Her final thought was, “I am really excited about the opportunity and the growing level of confidence working directly with clients!”

We are happy to welcome Beatrice to the family at Barbosa Legal and look forward to watching her excel!
